The Great Acceleration: AI's Unstoppable Transformation

I'm going to be honest with you: the idea of LinkedIn going away is the most exciting thing about AI for me.

That might sound strange coming from someone who has spent almost three years putting their entire life on hold—taking courses, writing code, building apps, websites, automations, and AI agents. An all-consuming focus on understanding what's coming.

We're living through a generational shift, a transformation that will define us as a people on this planet. But the wave that's approaching isn't the kind you can see on the horizon—it's not some distant tsunami of material change that might wipe a city clean. This wave has already begun.

It's growing like a fungus, exponentially expanding as the containers for its existence merge into other containers. Think of it this way, AI isn't just a tool we're building; it's becoming the engineer and designer of its own ingenuity. The solutions we feed it, the problems we ask it to solve, the very frameworks we give it to reason—these are all becoming ripe ground for AI to flourish.

I don't believe in fate. I believe in intention, in design, in making deliberate choices to shape what's meant to happen. This tidal wave of AI isn't just going to mark immediate, surface-level changes. It's going to fundamentally alter the societal and technological apparatus that makes our world function. These systems—our professional networks, our institutions, our very ways of organizing human activity—these are becoming the tools and containers for AI's expansion.

The shape and form of this transformation is limited only by AI's growing ability to control and redesign the systems it inhabits. When I think about LinkedIn disappearing, I'm not just imagining the end of a social media platform. I'm seeing the collapse of an entire paradigm of how we network, how we present ourselves professionally, how we navigate career advancement in a world where traditional employment structures are becoming obsolete.

What fascinates me most is how AI is simultaneously contained by our current systems and actively reshaping them. It exists within our technological infrastructure, but it's also redesigning that infrastructure from the inside out. Like a fungal network that spreads through soil, transforming the very medium that sustains it.

We built AI to solve our problems, but we're discovering that it doesn't just solve problems—it reframes them entirely. It doesn't just optimize existing systems; it reveals how those systems were never optimal to begin with.

The acceleration is undeniable now. Every day brings new capabilities, new disruptions, new realizations about what we thought was permanent. The professional world as we know it, the educational systems we built our lives around, the economic structures we took for granted—all of it is being reconsidered by an intelligence that doesn't share our assumptions about how things should work.

This isn't doom and gloom. This is the most exciting time to be alive.

For those of us who saw it coming, who made the sacrifices, who put everything on hold to understand and prepare—we're not just witnesses to history. We're participants in creating what comes next.
