Boneyard was founded in 2024 by a team that has spent the last decade shipping software for companies like Apple, Google, Ford, Netflix, Coca-Cola, Flutter, and a long list of startups you’ve probably used. The roster is eclectic on purpose. Good work is good work — at any scale.
The Name
Why
“Boneyard.”
A boneyard is where good machinery rests.
Fighter jets in the Arizona desert. Rocket components from retired space programs. Locomotives in a switchyard somewhere in Kansas. Beautiful, functional machines — engineered by thousands of people who cared — set aside because something newer came along.
We like the metaphor because it runs both ways.
On one side: most of the software shipped in the last 20 years is already sitting in a boneyard somewhere. Abandoned apps, neglected websites, internal tools nobody maintains. Most of it was never really good. We’re not interested in adding to that pile.
On the other side: every product we build is something we want to still be running in ten years. Something worth pulling out of the boneyard when the time comes. Something someone decided was worth the effort.
